Tammy Jane from Melbourne shares her powerful story at the Brisbane freedom rally: surviving 250+ days of lockdowns, rubber bullets, and pepper spray while fighting for freedom of choice. A heartfelt call for national unity, community building, and mutual support across Australia.

Tammy Jane:

Hey guys. I finally made it. I've been wanting to come to one of your rallies since early last year, but obviously being in Melbourne with all the lockdowns, couldn't go anywhere for quite a while and I just had to watch all the live streams and it was just beautiful watching you guys grow as you could.

And why I wanted to get up today is because I want to express how beautiful a thing you have got going here. And it makes me emotional because you guys had a chance. You guys had a chance to rally together to build your numbers and create a community.

Down in Melbourne it's different. So we were caught out by surprise guys. And what happened in Melbourne can actually go anywhere. It really can. And it was pretty full on.

I can count four or five times I was running from rubber bullets, being covered in pepper spray all because I was standing up for freedom of choice and wanting to make an income for my family.

So watching you guys gave me hope because it was like, okay, when things come down in Melbourne, maybe we have got a chance to do that too. And we are. We're picking up the pieces slowly, but it's like we're in damage control in recovery and we need as much support as possible from everyone across the country to support our live streams.

Come and see us. Come down. Come to a rally. Let us know that you're here. And what I want to say is being in Melbourne and being in those lockdowns and watching the rest of the country continue on living and we're in lockdown for over 250 days in total in less than 18 months. And we were watching the rest of the country just live and continue on.

Now we know you guys couldn't come because of the border closures and things like that, but somehow we need to come together as a nation and say, if one city is going down, the rest will come.

We can't have on city going down and the rest of the country continuing on. It's heartbreaking guys. It's so hard. So I will promise to you, if you go down here in Brisbane, in Queensland, into long lockdowns, I will do everything in my power to bring our people from Melbourne to Brisbane.

So cherish what you have here, guys. It's really special. It's very powerful and it's taught us a lot in Melbourne what we can do and we are building our community, sending you so much love. Thank you for having me here. Lots of love, guys.

So what we did prove in Canberra, thanks Tammy. What we did prove when I met Tammy down Canberra, what we did discuss was one of the positives that came out of going to Canberra was the fact that we learned that we can mobilise massive amounts of people on very short notice and get them to where we need to go.
