The People’s Revolution has outright rejected published claims that it and ‘Campaign against racism and fascism Brisbane’ (with their Sovereignty Never Ceded event) will be clashing in the Brisbane CBD on Saturday 13th September 2025.
The claims couldn't be further from the truth.
This article represents the very type of 'misinformation' that the community needs to be protected from. A correction is requested.
In the article by Tayla Couacaud it says “The Australia Unite protest led by The People’s Revolution that is set to take place nationally, will take over King George Square sparked by the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot in the neck at an event at Utah University.”
The rally has always been scheduled to happen in the Brisbane CBD Botanic Gardens and this was easily confirmed by visiting our website at www.thepeoplesrevolution.com.au The event page has all official advertising.
Further, our event has been planned weeks in advance and has nothing to do with the assassination of Conservative political influencer Charlie Kirk just two days prior to the date. As advertised, the event theme is government corruption.
The correct location is given in her article two paragraphs later, along with a claim that it is an “unlawful protest”.
Whilst The People’s Revolution does not see the need to gain permission to gather in a public place, care is always taken to check there are no other events running in the location. In Saturday’s case, we have proactively reached out to the manager of Afterglow (Brisbane Festival) to ensure that not only do we not disaffect their event but also to promote it to our own people as an add-on to their day out.
Any march through the CBD is accompanied by the Queensland Police. The People’s Revolution is in its sixth year and has an exemplary working relationship with the police. We have conducted over 60 rallies and their associated marches where applicable.
Likewise, we have an open line of communication with the other event’s organisers and have actively planned so that our marches don’t coincide. If they were to for any reason, we will smile and wave as we go past. We wish them the best with their event.
The article further states “A secondary rally, dubbed Sovereignty Never Ceded, hosted by group ‘Campaign against racism and fascism Brisbane’, will aim to drown out the far-right group…”
The People’s Revolution is not “far right” and never has been. It is a whole of community group and the mix of people attending is on par with the type of people you would see at a football game. Our event history and videos of speech content are published on our website and prove this point.
We have found an email from the Courier Mail, received 2:04 pm today.

There are no staff at The People’s Revolution, only volunteers, and so an expectation of instantly noticing the arrival of an email is not realistic. That said, the error of the event location could have easily been avoided by basic checking of our website.
